Bruno Magli

Bruno Magli was born in Italy. It was his family who first started a shoe business in Bologna(Italy). Although Bruno Magli is a main shoedesigner his family is closely involved in the process of shoemaking. Bruno Magli shoes are the sign of a good quality, elegant designs and are examples of high quality craftsmanship. From my point of view, Bruno Magli is a brand that offers a sense of well-being and prestige to a sophisticated clientele. His shoes are made from finest leather which gives both: a luxurious look and comfort and thats what saavy business people need. Magli's shoes are available for men and women equally and suggests a big range of evening and casual style designs that to me, lean toward the more conservative and practical side. In otherwards you can kill two birds with one stone by buying one pair of shoes. With a dedication to the extensive Italian design tradition, Bruno Magli has been handcrafting footwear and accessoiries in Italy for over 60 years. The result is that Bruno Magli is a worldwide known name which takes one of the toppest lines in the fashion industry.

VICINI

Giuseppe Zanotti designs for VICINI. He is 47 and was born in Pascoli, an Adriatic town with a long history of shoemaking. He began his career about twenty years ago when he started to work as a footwear designer for Italian fabrics. In 1994 he decided to try his own business. What makes his collections unique is their synthesis of design awareness and quality: " design awareness keeps you up to speed with the major trends that, season after season, dominates the worlds of ready to wear and haute couture; and its also important for building up a repertory of ideas and images taken from videos, music, arts and cinemas" claims Zanotti. By all means his Italian roots play a big role in his designing techniques. Italy with its hot sun and warm sea is the best place for glamorous parties and beautiful women.
Therefore in my opinion, the Italian brand VICINI offers a wide range of high quality shoes for any occasion whether it is a beach party or a ball. VICINI attracts its target audience with affordable designer quality, and thats what the success of the millenium is about- an ability to create a unique quality shoe that embodies every aspect of life.

Manolo Blahnik

Manolo Blahnik began his extraordinary career in the Seventies, he continues to surprise his fans with beautifully crafted designs. His shoes are synonymous with high glamour and chic and are as famous as the women who wear them.
Manolo Blahnik is a universally known brand and has a long list of famous clientele starting from Princess Diana who worn them for the Serpentine Gallery in 1994 to Kylie Minogue who wore them for her 2001 album. Thanks to the girls in "Sex and the city" Blahnik became a household name to me.
For me the simplicity of the shoe's design make them sexy yet tasteful, and suitable for any evening or day occasion. Manolo mostly specializes in high heeled shoes (which I wear religiously) like black leather stilettos, taupe suede shoes, gold pumps, strappy silver high heels and shoe sandals. Although it is my favourite brand, I must admit that the comfort and beauty of this shoe costs an arm and a leg.
Don't forget! For all Sex and the City girls the ultimate collectors item... A Manolo Blahnik limited edition shoe horn.

Jimmy Choo

"It does not matter what you are wearing-if you have good shoes and a good bag, you'll look right." Tamara Mellon

Jimmy Choo is a couture shoe/bag designer who came out of London's East end and launched the company in 1996. He is mostly famous for his elegant and glamourous shoe designs which have rockated to fame thanks to megastars making their appearences fitted in his savvy shoes. A famous singer Beyonce even wrote a song "kicking it in my Jimmy's".
Mr.Choo graced the public with the opening of his first store in Knightsbridge in 1996. I was recently introduced to Jimmy Choo as a brand, however I was absolutely smitten by its exclusive purchases. As well as Manolo Blahnik, Choo specializes at producing all kinds of shoes (evening shoes, sandals, boots, bridals) but to me they seem less feminine than Blahnik's. Despite the beauty of the design Jimmy puts a big emphasis on charity work. His newest trend is a limited edition Pink Ribbon shoe which was made in honour of The Breast Cancer Research Foundation, and I guess that made him even more popular.
